-DA Texture Tutorial, made Easy.
Hello everyone, Epytron_Omega here to explain how to make -DA textures.
You will need a few things to be able to generate your -DA textures. The first is photoshop, the second is the DDS Photoshop plugin, and the third is a modeling program that is capable of exporting to the Sins format. Exporting will be another tutorial, but until then Let us get to the textures.
Ok so first you will need your CL texture, like this:
You will need a few things to be able to generate your -DA textures. The first is photoshop, the second is the DDS Photoshop plugin, and the third is a modeling program that is capable of exporting to the Sins format. Exporting will be another tutorial, but until then Let us get to the textures.
Ok so first you will need your CL texture, like this:
So now we take our lights layer, this being windows, glows, engines anything you want to fully glow in the game. You will be adding this to the Green layer at a later time, but for now we save it as the Alpha like such:
Now we take the Alpha from the CL texture, which is your Team Color Glow for the DA texture. You copy and past that to the Red level of your DA texture and it should look like this:
Next, after you do the team color, you will start on the blue layer, the shiny layer of the texture. to do this, copy and paste the entire blue layer of the texture to a new file, and modify the brightness and contrast. I use a -100% brightness and +100% contrast, and the models turn out fine. it should look like this:
Now for the final touch. You will do the same thing with the Green Layer from the CL texture, same settings, or play with it if you would like, and then copy and paste the Alpha glows to it and remove the black. Flatten the Image and save it and it should look like this:
That should be everything you need to do. Enjoy making your DA Textures!
